I feel fortunate to have grown up in a farming family on the outskirts of a small rural town in the Far North with Mum, Dad, and my three siblings. It is from these humble beginnings that sparked the satisfaction I feel from good, honest, hard work.
From becoming head boy of my High School, to accepting an offer to become part of the New Zealand Army as an Officer, then furthering my education at Massey University have all led me to where I am today. All these parts of my life have taught me skills such as teamwork, leadership, and time management among many others.
I moved to Wellington over 14 years ago and pursued a career in Real Estate shortly after, having now had my license for over 12 years. A drive to carry out real estate at the highest level still lights a fire within me. I couldn’t think of a career I would rather be involved in. Any awards won or recognition garnered is just a bonus.
Outside of Real Estate, I live in Wellington with my wife Amy and my son Kiaan. Becoming a Dad has been my greatest achievement to date. I am a social person and have a good sense of humor - I have been known to pull a few harmless pranks in my time!
I find great enjoyment in physical exercise; I have represented to a regional and national level in Swimming, Rugby and Triathlons. Currently, I pursue Crossfit as an outlet for energy where I have competed among the best in NZ. Being a little older now, I would be the first to admit it is getting a little harder to compete with the guys 10 – 15 years my junior (especially trying to work through a long-standing niggling injury). My discipline, determination, and mental fortitude needed to succeed in sport carry directly through to the real estate industry, helping me to stay very focused throughout the sale until completion and achieve the best result for clients.
Mid century and new have been combined seamlessly at 48 Ruskin Road. One of the most exquisite examples of a three-bedroom home I have seen in Newlands. The home has been improved on via some thoughtful upgrades & installations. The current owners have (not all inclusive by any stretch):
• Replaced the roof, spouting and downpipe in 2020 • Installed full double glazing • Installed full insulation (yes this includes the walls) • Installed a new HRV • Undertaken extensive paint work • Installed new French doors • Upgraded the carpet • Upgraded the shower and vanity
Meticulous care has been taken during renovations. The kitchen has been tastefully designed & modernized. There is a connected feel with the living spaces while having sight out onto the yard to keep an eye on the playing children. The room off the rear of the kitchen neatly houses the laundry while also doubling as a butler's pantry. Both a fireplace & heat pump to keep warm in winter, you choose.
The modernised home is only matched by the tract of land it sits on. An impressive & predominantly usable 1,040 sqm. French doors lead to decking from which a beautifully cared for flat lawn sprawls. On the western side is another usable & sheltered lawn space. While up above is space just asking to be further developed. Currently it contains a hot house & raised garden beds which could be easily added to. The home & yard boasts gorgeous morning sun & beautiful sunrises over Newlands - imagine enjoying your coffee while watching Tui dart in & out of the native bush that surrounds the property. Elevated & private.
The garage is over 40 sqm in size! Currently used as both a place to house vehicles & a gym, this space is ideal for a multitude of uses. Only 10 mins drive to the city, a walk down the hill to the bus stop & Newlands Primary School with the College close also. Newlands New World & the Johnsonville precinct also near.
